AUTOLOGOUS FAT TRANSFER (MICROLIPOINJECTION)

Autologous fat transfer is a revolutionary new procedure that uses an individual's own body fat to plump up sunken or emaciated areas of the face or to add volume where it is needed. On a basic level, the very term “autologous” refers to the use of one's own tissues or fat and, because the patient's own fat is used, microlipoinjection fat transfer requires three steps: first, there is liposuction of some excess fat (such as the jowls, abdomen, thighs, or buttocks); next is the isolation and cleansing of the fat cells, and the final step is the injection of the fat cells into the targeted facial areas (this is the actual fat transplant). |
