What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a technologically advanced method of microneedling. The device is made by InMode, a leading manufacturer of aesthetic radiofrequency systems. The Morpheus8 device integrates radiofrequency with an automated microneedling technique to create a powerful combination for the correction of numerous signs of aging.
Who is an ideal candidate for Morpheus8?
Radiofrequency microneedling treatment can be effective for many adults seeking cosmetic improvements. In clinical studies, Morpheus8 performed very well on a wide range of skin types. These studies found that the risk of hyperpigmentation is low, so Morpheus8 may be suitable for light to medium skin tones.
The device applicator is small, allowing us to treat any part of the body in which tissue remodeling is desired. Common concerns that can be treated with Morpheus8 include:
- Acne and acne scars
- Enlarged pores
- Deep lines and creases on the face or body
- Poor skin texture
- Sun damage and pigment concerns
- Mild double-chin
- Mild jowls and facial tissue laxity
- Loose neck skin and horizontal lines on the neck
- Stretch marks
What is the difference between Morpheus8 and traditional microneedling?
Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy that has been widely performed for several years. It works by creating tiny channels in the skin that the body heals by producing more collagen. Radiofrequency, also performed independently through a special applicator, also stimulates collagen production. Morpheus8 takes the microneedling technique and amplifies it by using the microneedles as a mechanism of delivery for radiofrequency energy. During treatment, as the tiny needles penetrate the skin, the channels they create are targeted with radiofrequency waves. This causes a thermal response in the deeper layers of the skin. The result is more profound tissue remodeling than would be achieved with either technique on its own.
What are the benefits of Morpheus8 treatments?
One of the most significant benefits of Morpheus8 treatment is that the combination of microneedling and radiofrequency delivery reaches deeper layers of tissue, up to 5,000 microns, for substantial tissue tightening. Additionally, due to the depth of energy absorption, subdermal adipose tissue, such as the fat that causes a double chin, is also targeted. The RF microneedling technique achieves noticeable results quickly but also continues to support collagen production for several months.
Treatment Areas for Morpheus8 Microneedling
Morpheus8 can be used in many areas of the face and body, including the full face, periorbital area, abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. Morpheus8 can be used on all skin types, from light to dark skin tones.
Are Morpheus8 treatments painful?
Although the Morpheus8 procedure is designed to affect deeper layers of the skin and subdermal tissue, treatment is relatively painless. Microneedles are very fine and very sharp. The handpiece is also automated, not rolled across the skin like a dermal roller. This eliminates the chances of tugging and tearing. Our staff also applies a topical numbing cream to the skin before commencing with treatment. Once the procedure begins, clients may feel a slight prickling sensation followed by warmth as subdermal tissue is heated with radiofrequency energy. Tissue heating occurs consistently so no hot spots occur. Clients find the process quite tolerable.
How many Morpheus8 treatment sessions will I need?
Some improvement can be seen after just one Morpheus8 treatment. Depending on the problem and desired outcome, one treatment may be sufficient. However, more significant concerns such as deep scars, stretch marks, and tissue laxity usually need a series of treatments for dramatic improvement. The number of treatments each person needs can be estimated after our consultation and assessment of the condition of the skin.
How long do Morpheus8 treatments take?
Each Morpheus8 appointment can take from 30 to 60 minutes.
Results after Microneedling with RF
After your treatment, you will notice visible results within just a few days, however, full results will appear approximately three weeks after treatment. These results will continue to improve over the next few months. During your consultation we will discuss the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.
How long will my Morpheus8 results last?
The deep penetration of microneedles and radiofrequency energy achieves dramatic tissue remodeling and collagen proliferation that continues for several months. The results of the appropriate number of Morpheus8 treatments can last years. The appearance of the skin is influenced by several factors, including sun exposure, smoking and other lifestyle habits, and the natural effects of aging. Usually, yearly touch-ups can successfully maintain younger-looking skin.
Is there any downtime after a Morpheus8 treatment?
RF microneedling is minimally-invasive, has no incisions, and needs no general anesthesia. Clients are free to resume most normal activities right after their appointment.
What are the side effects of Morpheus8?
As soon as this microneedling procedure is over, clients may notice pinpoint bleeding. This typically lasts only a few minutes and can be gently cleaned to remove small spots of blood. Due to microchannels and the heating of deep layers of tissue, the skin may look sunburned for up to one week. Some people notice minor swelling in the treatment area, as well. This usually resolves within a few days. As the skin is recovering, it is important to use a good moisturizer and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen each day.
