What Does the O-Shot Treat?

The O-Shot treats many symptoms, including:

  • Urinary leakage upon sneezing, coughing, jumping, or laughing
  • Leakage from the urgency of urination
  • Decreased ability to reach an orgasm
  • Low libido (sex drive)
  • Painful intercourse
  • Chronic pain caused by a history of vaginal childbirth (episiotomy scars)

How Is the O-Shot Procedure Performed?

When you come in for an O-Shot, we will first perform a simple blood draw so that platelet-rich plasma can be extracted. The plasma is then injected into a numbed area near the clitoris and upper vagina. This causes a rejuvenation of the cells and blood supply to the tissue.

O-Shot Procedure

The procedure is straightforward. Our provider will first draw some of your blood by venipuncture. Platelet-rich plasma is extracted from the blood after it is centrifuged and then injected near the clitoris and upper vagina after the area is numbed with topical local anesthetic. The plasma can then revitalize the cells and blood supply of the tissue over time.  Usually, a series of three injections spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results.

What Results Can I Expect Following the O-shot®?

The growth factors within the PRP begin working to plump and regenerate tissue right away. Many patients notice remarkable improvements within three weeks of receiving the O-Shot. However, we expect the full effect of treatment to occur approximately three months after the injection. After receiving the O-Shot, women report having fuller and more frequent orgasms. Women for whom orgasms were difficult before treatment find them much easier after their injection. Women for whom orgasms were always good notice that they become extraordinarily satisfying! After the O-Shot, women who have struggled with painful sex or unsatisfying sexual sensitivity can gain newfound enthusiasm related to their intimate lives. Women who have struggled with stress or urge urinary incontinence can gain newfound confidence to live fuller, more active lifestyles.

Are There Side Effects?

The O-Shot injects women's own PRP into their bodies, so there is no risk of adverse reaction to the product. Complications are very rare. Our team is careful to maintain a sterile environment when drawing blood, processing the blood, and injecting the PRP. Generally, the side effects that occur after O-Shot treatment include very minor swelling, bruising, and bleeding. The bleeding that may occur is less than that spotting one may experience during their menstrual cycle. All side effects typically subside in 24 to 48 hours.

Can I Repeat O-shot® Treatment?

The O-Shot can be repeated after four to six weeks. While one treatment may be enough to achieve outstanding improvements, studies have shown that a series of injections can enhance the outcome significantly.

Is the Procedure FDA Approved?

The O-Shot is a proven PRP treatment developed for vaginal rejuvenation. Like other PRP treatments, the O-Shot is not FDA-approved. PRP is not a drug; it is a derivative of the blood that we obtain at the beginning of each O-Shot treatment. PRP is not forbidden but is also not within the regulation of the FDA. That said, the O-Shot, like other PRP treatments, is perfectly safe when performed by a trained professional with the appropriate licensure.

Do I Need to Refrain From Sexual Intercourse After the Procedure?

No! You can go back to your regular activities like exercising, working and having intercourse on the day of the procedure.
