Are you searching for a way to revitalize your appearance? Consider coming to Skintology MedSpa by Dr. Jennifer Walden for a Vampire Facial® in New York, NY!
Used by stars like Kim Kardashian and Bar Refaeli, this facial uses microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve the texture, health, and appearance of the skin. While both microneedling and PRP have been used separately to treat a variety of skin issues, the Vampire Facial combines both treatments for maximum results.
To prepare for the facial, our practitioners will first withdraw a sample of you blood using standard venipuncture technique. Using sterile conditions, the blood is centrifuged in order to isolate platelet-rich plasma. Platelets contain growth factors that are vital to the healing process and facial. These factors will be inserted into the skin or applied topically after microneedling is done on the surface of the facial skin. The microneedling device and PRP work synergistically to tighten the skin and increases collagen in the face. PRP is often are then reapplied to promote healing within the skin, allowing the patient to recover more quickly than in traditional microneedling. Most patients only need a day or two of recovery before returning to their usual routine. Some discomfort and temporary redness may follow, but we invite you to call our office at (212) 832-2225 if you have any concerns.

The Vampire Facial uses a microneedling procedure to insert growth factors into the skin. These factors come from the patient themselves, helping revitalize and promote healing.
This treatment can help improve the color, elasticity, and texture of the skin — as well as minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.
After drawing and isolating growth factors from the patient’s blood, small needles are used to inject them into the deeper layers of the procedure. After this microneedling procedure, recovery time usually takes less than a day, with minimal bruising or soreness.
