Ultherapy Nonsurgical Facelift in NYC

Ultherapy Nonsurgical Facelift

If you are looking for a non-invasive cosmetic treatment to improve your skin, Ultherapy® may be the solution for you! We welcome you to contact Skintology MedSpa by Dr. Jennifer Walden at (212) 832-2225 to learn more about Ultherapy in New York, NY, and schedule your appointment with our experienced Ultherapy experts.

What Is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that lifts and tightens your skin naturally using ultrasound technology. Ultherapy not only targets deeper layers of skin tissue to improve your appearance but allows our cosmetic experts to see the layers of tissue that are being targeted to ensure a more precise treatment.

The FDA-cleared treatment boosts your body’s production of the connective protein collagen to enhance your complexion, naturally tone and tighten skin, and improve elasticity to correct sagging and age-related drooping.

Benefits Of Ultherapy

Benefits of Ultherapy include:

  • No needles or incisions
  • No downtime following treatment
  • A completely comfortable and non-invasive procedure

Ultherapy offers a safer, easier alternative to a facelift and other treatments, including PDO and Novathreads, dermal fillers, and skin-tightening treatments.

By harnessing the power of microfocused ultrasound technology, it can effectively lift the face, neck, and brow while improving the appearance of wrinkles on the upper chest.

Ultherapy® Before and After

Candidates For Ultherapy

If you have skin that looks and feels less firm, a lowered eyebrow line, sagging under the chin, fine lines or wrinkles on the chest, or loose skin on the neck, you are a good candidate for Ultherapy.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

Ultherapy works by bypassing the surface of the skin to deliver ultrasound energy to the treatment area at exactly the right depth and temperature to stimulate collagen production in the foundations of your skin. Ultherapy is often recommended to:

  • Lift skin on the neck, eyebrows, and under the chin
  • Reduce lines and wrinkles
  • Address wrinkles on the upper chest
  • Firm skin on the brow, chin, neck, and chest

What To Expect During Your Ultherapy Procedure

Our cosmetic experts will begin by cleansing your skin. Ultrasound gel is then applied to the targeted area, and the smooth applicator is placed against the skin. We then use ultrasound imaging to see deep within your skin to confirm the optimal placement of ultrasound energy. This ultrasound energy is then delivered beneath the surface of your skin. The length of your session will depend on the size of the treated area and your individual treatment plan.

How Long Does An Ultherapy Treatment Take?

The length of your procedure depends on the treatment area. Face and neck procedures take 60-90 minutes, while chest treatments take about 30 minutes.

Ultherapy Recovery

Your skin may appear flushed immediately following treatment, and you may experience slight swelling, tingling, tenderness, or bruising and numbness on small areas of skin. These effects are temporary and will subside within a day or so.

How Does Ultherapy Differ From Laser Skin Treatments?

Unlike other cosmetic treatments, Ultherapy uses sound energies that move past the fine layers of skin to penetrate deeper. Laser rely on light energy, which can only treat the outermost layers of skin. Laser treatments are also not FDA-cleared for lifting and tightening skin.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Ultherapy typically only requires one session, but some patients may benefit from additional treatments depending on the level of skin laxity they have and their desired end results, We will ensure that any Ultherapy sessions we recommend are relevant to your goals and can realistically help you achieve the improvements you hope to see.

The general protocol is yearly Ultherapy to maintain results. In between sessions, additional skin rejuvenation treatments may help you achieve your desired look.

What Is The Difference Between Ultherapy And A Facelift?

Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment and requires no injections to the face and no downtime for recovery. Facelifts are surgical procedures that require incisions, sutures, and weeks of downtime, as well as months of recovery.

A facelift may also be too extreme for patients who have mild to moderate aging skin and want to address these concerns without an invasive procedure. Ultherapy eliminates the cons of a facelift by offering a safe, in-office procedure that requires no downtime, anesthesia, or pain relievers.

Another key difference between a facelift and Ultherapy is the way they work. Ultherapy promotes collagen production to naturally enhance your skin’s elasticity and combat age-related laxity and wrinkles. A facelift is the surgical removal of excess skin and tightening of underlying facial muscles to enhance the appearance.

Why Does Offering Ultherapy Make Skintology Medical Spa Unique?

Ultherapy is one of the only non-invasive procedures cleared by the FDA. It is also the only cosmetic procedure that uses ultrasound imaging to allow our doctors to see deep layers of tissue during treatment in order to tailor where the ultrasound energy is targeted.

Offering this treatment to our patients allows us to help them safely combat the undesired effects of aging on the skin while minimizing risks and downtime. Ultherapy is also able to be safely combined with other procedures, allowing us to help you maintain your beautiful complexion with ease.

Is Ultherapy Safe?

Ultherapy is a very safe treatment and has been used in over half a million treatments worldwide. Ultrasound energy has also been used in the medical field for more than 50 years.

Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared device to lift the skin on the neck, and it can help you obtain a more youthful, reinvigorated look without the need for invasive procedures or repetitive treatments.

Side Effects Of Ultherapy

You may experience a few mild side effects of Ultherapy immediately following treatment. These include some redness, slight swelling, and tenderness to the touch. These side effects should disappear within a few hours.

If your symptoms do not improve or you have any concerns whatsoever, we encourage you to contact us immediately for guidance.

Can Ultherapy Work as Well as Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are an excellent way to restore volume, enhance the face, and rejuvenate the appearance. However, they have limitations. Unlike Ultherapy, dermal fillers cannot enhance collagen production or improve your skin’s elasticity. Fillers work by restoring lost volume, so while they can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, they cannot tighten the skin.
