If you have questions about our treatments for vitiligo in New York, NY, and to make an appointment with our doctors, call us today at (212) 832-2225. The color of your hair and skin is determined by melanin. When the cells that produce melanin die or cease to function, vitiligo occurs. Vitiligo affects all skin types, but is much more noticeable in people with darker skin. This condition is not life-threatening or contagious, but may be stressful, cause you to feel self-conscious or embarrassed, and make you more sensitive to sunburn and skin cancer. This condition may appear at any age, but often appears before the age of 20.

Our vitiligo treatments help restore color to the affected areas of skin so that you can enjoy an even skin tone and a more regular appearance. Our vitiligo experts use skin camouflaging treatments to achieve your desired appearance.

Do not apply makeup before your skin camouflaging treatment. We will provide a topical anesthetic cream to your skin to enhance your comfort prior to implanting the pigment in your skin. While we make every effort to ensure your comfort, you may still feel some discomfort during your procedure.

Following treatment, you should avoid all ultra-violet exposure and keep Alpha-hydroxy products and Retin-A away from treated areas for at least 10 days.

Please remember that treatment will not prevent a recurrence of Vitiligo or continued loss of skin color.
